ATM

A Perspective:

"Being a celebrity is a job, they pamper themselves and get conditioned to smile in front of the fans and act kindly in front of everyone. Think about how as an employee, you have no other choice but to act obedient and submissive towards your superior, that's the same logic that applies between celebrities and fans. They treat you well only because you're the reason they get to lay food on the table."  - Anoynymous

"500 years ago, entertainment was the lowliest profession. Today, entertainers teach society its morals and ethics. Humanity regressing." - Ahmed Dimashqee

ATM: an electronic banking machine that dispenses cash.

In this generation, as well as previous generations there are group of people that can be referred to as ATMs. Essentially what they do is give money. Giving money is not necessarily a bad thing depending on the situation; it may be given with love and sincerity from the one point of view but the other seen as nothing else but a money dispenser.

The label ATM could relate to many things; such as an "ATM" sending money back home to relatives - although the best in charity is giving towards your family. But what concerns me most is the fandom culture that we have in this century. ATMs are machines, robots - they do what you want when you want. They have no capacity to think and they do what they're programmed to be. Fans don't think rationally; they behave impulsively according to their desires - which is usually to adore the celebrity as it makes the fan happy. Making the celebrity "happy" is a different subject.

Fan: a person who has a strong interest in or admiration for a particular person or thing.

Celebrity: a famous person, especially in entertainment or sport.

We happen to live in a world where money is what most people want however admiration towards something over powers that.
Thus Obsession > Money

Generally, most people are sane enough not to give an exorbitant amount of money to a celebrity such as sponsored/endorsed products. But as young fangirl/boys are easily influences by their whims and desires, would they not then spend irrationally towards their "faves". I won't go into details of what the spending goes towards but it's safe to assume that most of the are useless. Most celebrities that people follow have huge pay checks, so it incomprehensible to why people support them by giving money – which they are underserving of in my opinion.

Many people will give the excuse, "I'm not harming anyone, I can do what I like with my money so long as it makes me happy." In that previous statement how many I's and me's do you see? We've become selfish, egotistical - that is the root of all evil. Only thinking about yourself, how will we progress as a nation? Many of us live in this life as if it is paradise, we wish to be entertained all our lives. Is temporary self-happiness all we seek? We are being serviced instead of serving mankind.

Happy: feeling or showing pleasure or contentment.

Although much of the world is tending towards atheism, within them they have the ability to submit and worship - as it is not towards God it goes to something else (I'm refering to the celebrity culture we have here). Worshiping is an innate part of us and it brings our soul to be content. Faith in something is very powerful and can drive humans to pretty much anything within their bounds - this is another topic for discussion.
Imagine you are in the grave and you are asked 'Who is your Lord?'
Your answer would be whatever you worshipped and idolised when you were living.

Islamic Quotes and More on Fortune-Telling ..

FORTUNE - TELLING The Salaah (Daily Prayer) Of Whoever Approaches A Fourtune - Teller And Asks Him About Anything Will Not be Accepted For 40 Days And Nights. - Prophet Muhammad  (Peace Be Upon Him) Astrology, horoscopes, superstition and fortune-telling are all actions of Jaahiliyyah (ignorance) which Islam came to show as false and to explain that they are Shirk, because they involve depending on something other than Allaah and believing that benefit and harm come from something other than Him, and believing the words of fortune-tellers who falsely claim to have knowledge of the unseen in order to cheat people of their money and change their beliefs.  The evidence (Daleel) for that is the Hadeeth narrated by Abu Dawood in his Sunan with a Saheeh Isnaad from Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allaah (Peace Be Upon Him) said: “Whoever learns anything of astrology has learned a branch of witchcraft (al...
